Volunteers
No show or organization can fully function or be executed successfully without the assistance volunteers. This year the Calgary Expo wants to give a bit more back to all those people who offer their time and efforts to make our show the 2nd largest in Canada. Below is a list positions we are looking for assistance in and the rewards system we have developed to help make the experience just a little sweeter.
Please review all the positions and times carefully and sign on for those only that you know you can help with. You may sign on for as many positions as you wish and, of course, don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions - volunteers [at] calgaryexpo (dot) com.
GIVEAWAY BAG STUFFING |
We’re giving away 5,000 bags filled with goodies and we need help stuffing them! This will take place on Saturday, April 19th, time and location TBA. We will also have a volunteer meeting during this time too! This will be a 4 hour shift.

PRE-SHOW SETUP |
The calm before the storm! On Friday, April 25th, we’ll be setting up the hall, helping exhibitors check in, preparing the auction area, placing the giveaway bags, and more!

DRIVERS & RUNNERS |
Transportation before, during, and after the event plays a critical role in the show. You need to have a vehicle in order to fulfill this role, and a good sense of direction! Drivers will be required throughout the weekend for various duties.
Delivery schedules will be created based on the amount of drivers we have. |

EXHIBITOR SERVICES |
This will be to help getting the exhibitors into their spots, and ready to go when the doors open!

ADMISSIONS AREA |
There will be lots of people wanting to get into the show! We’ll need help taking admissions, stamping hands, giving out bags, entry checkers and more. If you like dealing with people, can handle high volume, then this is the area for you!

GUEST SERVICES |
Due to the nature of these positions, only applicants with experience will be considered. Please provide us with any info on previous experience with guests, convention volunteer work, or retail management positions.

SECURITY & CROWD CONTROL |
There has always been large crowds at the Expo, and we need people to keep everyone in order. These positions will be spread throughout the show floor.

We’ve got panel rooms filled with programming all
throughout the day, and we need people to make sure
that everything is running smoothly.

ORGANIZER ASSISTANTS |
Some of our key personnel will need extra help during
the show, and will act as a liaison between major areas
and the coordinators. |

POST SHOW TEAR DOWN |
Once the show closes, we’ll all need help taking
everything down and cleaning up.

For the first scheduled shift completed – one day admission to the Expo
