Contest Rules:

1) All costumes must be original construction or have major modifications to a pre-existing design. Costumes must not be purchased from an Internet site, retail store or from another professional source. Purchased items may enhance the overall look of the design but a costume must have at least 75% non-purchased items. Judges want to see craftsmanship and creativity.

2) It is permitted to wear costumes before and after the contest.

3) Maximum time allowed on stage is for one minute. If more time is needed, ask a representative.

4) Contestants must report to the Hall, no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the Costume Contest.

5) Weapons are not allowed during the performance on stage. They are allowed for the Pre-Judging and for pictures after the end of the awards. No messy substances, fire, or anything that may pose a danger to contestants, members of the audience, or our judges. No throwing of objects into the audience, and no touching of the judges.

6) A representative of the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Committee may reject an entry on the grounds of inappropriate or unsafe behavior or content, if the entry does not meet the criteria of rules, or if the show is at full capacity.

7) Enter as many costumes as you want, but they have to be worn by other people. Only wear the costume specified on the sign up form for this contest. Changing into another costume is not allowed.

8) All contestants must be seven years of age and older. Children under the age of fifteen are to be monitored by a parent or guardian from behind the stage.
