Eric Powell is a writer and artist who has been working in comics since 1995. He has contributed work on such varied comics titles as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Hellboy: Weird Tales, Star Wars Tales, The Incredible Hulk, Black Panther, The Avengers, The Hood, MAD Magazine, Devil Dinosaur, Swamp Thing, the Avengers, She-Hulk, the Simpsons, Arkham Asylum: Living Hell, Action Comics, and Creepy.

After almost five years in the industry Powell really came to prominence with his original series The Goon, which debuted from the small publisher Avatar Press. After three issues Powell switched to self-publishing under the moniker Albatross Exploding Funny Books, before being picked up by Dark Horse.

Recently, Eric has been working on turning Goon into an animated feature film. Powell has won several Eisner Awards for his work on Goon. It is produced by David Fincher. Paul Giamatti will voice franky and Clancy Brown will be the voice of The Goon.
