Christopher Shy, who sometimes goes by the pen name "Ronin," is a freelance fantasy and science fiction artist. He has also worked in comics and as a conceptual artist for films. He is also the founder of Studio Ronin and the co-founder of Ronin Arts. His work includes character portraits for White Wolf's Mage: the Ascension revised edition and illustrations for numerous novels. His Comic work started with covers for Empty Zone by Sirius Entertainment and covers for The Resistance by Wildstorm. Shy has worked on a number of graphic novels including Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, a graphic novel written by Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria and Ascend, an original graphic novel for Image Comics. Studio Ronin and Christopher Shy completed work on the graphic novel Pathfinder, released by Dark Horse Comics, an adaptation of the film by Marcus Nispel.

In 2007 Shy and Studio Ronin released Silent Leaves The Last Bondsmen followed by Silent Leaves Exceptions To Life, The first two installments of a four part graphic novel series written and drawn by Shy. He also illustrated Soul Stealer with Michael Easton followed by Soul Stealer: Blood and Rain in 2009.

In 2008 Shy was the conceptual designer for the remake of Friday The 13th directed by Marcus Nispel. Studio Ronin also handled design on the film Pathfinder in almost every aspect, from simple sword and helmet designs, to miniatures, and customs concepts, as well as the promotional materials, including the international and domestic movie poster.
