Bruce Timm

Few of us have watched cartoons based on DC characters in the past 15 years that haven't been under the careful attention of Bruce Timm. From Batman and Superman to the Justice League and Teen Titans, Bruce has changed the way world sees these icons.

This self taught illustrator, who draws his influences from a love of 50s and 60s comics and art deco, began his career with Filmation working on such projects as Flash Gordon and He-Man. He attempted to fulfill his love for drawing comics by applying for work at DC and Marvel Comics but to no avail. In 1989 he joined Warner Bros. where he began working on Tiny Toon Adventures and then in 1992 he co-created Batman: The Animated Series and the rest is history.

Bruce did realize his dream as a comic artist in 1994 when he drew a comic based on his new character Harley Quinn. Mad Love, written by co-creator Paul Dini, won the Eisner Award for Best Single Story that year. He went on to do several more comics based in the Batman Animated Universe as well as back up stories in Conan, Birds of Prey, stories in Marvel's Avengers, Harris' Vampirella and many more.
